BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!

The National Trust for Historic Preservation named Sitka to their list of the Dozen Distinctive Destinations in the country this year.  The Dozen Distinctive Destination program recognizes cities and towns that offer an authentic visitor experience by combing dynamic downtowns, cultural diversity, attractive architecture, cultural landscapes and a strong commitment to historic preservation, sustainability and revitalization.  Sitka is the first community in Alaska to receive this title.

This year, a fan favorite will be announced on March 1.  You can vote for your fan favorite between February 3 and February 28.  Anyone US resident over the age of 18 can vote as often as they wish.  Help try to make Sitka this year’s fan favorite by going to www.preservationnation.org/ddd

Vote and spread the word!
